This season of Pups on the Patio will begin Saturday, March 3rd
@ 6:00 pm, and will continue every 1st Saturday of each month
until September 1, 2012.
Pups on the Patio will begin Saturday, March 3rd @ 6:00 pm, and will continue every 1st Saturday of each month until September 1, 2012.
Pet owners can bring their dogs to socialize while enjoying live music on the patios of participating, dog friendly restaurants. Pups on the Patio will take place on Ruby Street in the Downtown Tavares Waterfront Entertainment District.
A "Pawsport" can be purchased for a $10 donation. The Pawsport entitles the purchaser to one free alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink at each of the following restaurants: Okeefe's Irish Pub, Ruby Street Grille, Al's Landing and Al's Dockside Barbeque. THAT'S 4 FREE DRINKS! Pawsports are good anytime until 12/31/12 and can be purchased at the event or at participating businesses and pet rescue groups.
100% of all proceeds benefit 11 local pet rescue groups who will be on hand to meet and greet a few of their wonderful pets available for adoption. Visit the following pet rescue groups for multiple chances to win raffle prizes: South Lake Animal League, Houndhaven, Greyhound Pets of America Senior Sanctuary, Max's Pet Connection, Florida Boxer Rescue, VIP Rescue, Bratpack Rescue, Cat Protection Society, Cornerstone Hospice Pet Peace of Mind, Buddies Thru Bullies and Ruff Times Rescue. The raffle drawings will be held at 8:30 pm on stage at Al's Landing. Winners do not need to be present to win.
Weather permitting, The Green K9 and O'Keefe's Restaurant will host a dog wash under a water misting and wading pool tent. Dog washes are from $5 - $15, depending on the dog's size. Nail trims by Nature's Touch Grooming are $5.
Bark Busters Dog Training will delight the crowd with two Canine Dance Team performances at 6:30 and 7:30 pm in front of O'Keefe's Restaurant. Plenty of food and vendors to enjoy such as, pet massage and a pet characature artist!
All Dogs Aboard...Starting April 7th join Premier Boat Tours for a Sunset Cruise for Dogs from 7:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., departing from Al's Landing.
All non-aggressive, leashed dogs are welcomed. When attending public dog events, pet owners should assure their dog is at least 4 months old and current on their vaccinations and flea and tick preventatives.
